Kuniyoshi was the precocious student of Toyokuni I, from whom
he received his name. In this “Bijin” print, Beautiful
Person, what could possibly be a Satsuki Azalea, is depicted,
almost incidentally, off to the side, again in an extraordinarily
deep round and contrastingly blue colored pot.
